Brushed nickel is a type of finish that is often referred by in two different ways. Some manufacturers refer to it as brushed nickel and others refer to it as satin nickel. Brushed nickel is a coating that has been dulled in appearance. It usually resembles brushed aluminum and brushed stainless steel.

The brushed nickel kitchen faucet style has become quite popular recently. Kitchens that have been modernized are often choosing this finish because it looks a lot like steel. Modern kitchens are one of the newest styles and many kitchens are renovating to add brushed nickel to their kitchen décor.

Brushed nickel kitchen faucets are a less common than stainless steel and chrome. It generally has a non-reflective exterior that has little to no shine and a duller appearance. It looks like brushed stainless steel and brushed aluminum but has less of a blue hue in color. The coating is added with lacquer to protect its finish.

The brushed nickel faucets come in many different styles and can be purchased on a wide budget range. Pick out a faucet style that compliments your kitchen theme. Satin nickel kitchen faucets go well with many different themes ranging from traditional to more modern styles.

Choose whichever faucet best works for you. There are single lever handles and double lever handles. The single lever handles only have one lever for adjusting the water temperature. This can be handy when you are multi-tasking and only have one free hand. The double lever handles offer a more adjustable water temperature range because they have separate knobs for hot and cold. You can also choose nickel brushed kitchen faucets that have pull out sprayers and dispensers for soap.

The nickel brushed faucets are generally more expensive but are much easier to maintain and clean. The nickel is made onto brass and is electroplated. The difference between this finish compared to stainless steel kitchen faucets, chrome, and brass is that water spots, smudges, and fingerprints, do not appear as well. You won’t have to clean them frequently to keep up that great looking appearance. Also they do not tarnish and are scratch resistant. The only downside is that brushed nickel can wear away over a long time.

There are many different manufacturers where you can purchase a brushed nickel kitchen faucet from. My advice is check out several known manufacturers and do a price comparison because often you can purchase the same design for less money if you look around.
